Our Top Mission…

is to help everyone and bring them a better life.

About Brand Recovery

Brand Recovery is a Community Interest Company which is a form of social enterprise.  We are constitutionally bound to provide support to vulnerable groups, currently targeted within Derby.  Unlike other companies we re-invest any profits back into Derby to further our work.

We originally formed in 2014 where we ran an initial pilot programme for the Brand Recovery concept.  After proving an overwhelming success we decided to form a social enterprise in May 2015.

We provide all of the training to vulnerable groups free of charge and are reliant on grant funding, support from the private sector and donations to keep our work ongoing.

Unlike some similar providers we can assure you that all qualifications are verified by external colleges, universities and educational establishments to ensure you obtain nationally accredited qualifications.

we are dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups

We have supported people like you or your clients

Brand Recovery is uniquely placed in it’s design to offer education, training and employment support to vulnerable groups in Derby.  We provide courses in textiles and graphic design that run for approximately 6-8 weeks in duration.

Here at Brand Recovery we understand that the thought of attending a new service or meeting new people can be very daunting.  Many of our learners are very nervous when they attend for the first time but, after a few days they can’t wait to get here and start their day. The programmes we provide are designed to be fun and interactive. You will be learning alongside people with similar experiences and backgrounds to you – they will understand you!

Whilst we need to do some paperwork to complete your qualifications we try to keep this to a minimum and aim to ensure you spend most of your time working on your own projects supported by our friendly tutors.

The average week at Brand Recovery is 9.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday but we can work around you to ensure that you can continue to attend any regular appointments when necessary.

Adherence to Educational Standards

How Many People Attend?

We limit the numbers attending Brand Recovery to 6-8 people for each course.  We do this to ensure it does not feel too crowded and most importantly to ensure every learner gets quality time and support from our expert tutors.

I'm Not Sure About Attending...

We know trying something new can be a little daunting.  If you are referred to us the first thing we always do is to invite you to come in to see us for a drink and a look around.  You’ll be able to ask any questions and meet some of the other learners who will tell you what they think.  If you decide after a visit that Brand Recovery isn’t for you we won’t contact you again.

What Projects Will I Do?

We have many varied projects that can be worked on.  Wherever possible we aim to find something that enthuses you and link your learning around this.  For anyone undertaking textiles training we ask you to make two of everything you work on – the first item is yours to take home and the second we sell via our online shops to pay for the cost of materials for future learners.

Will My Benefits Be Effected By Attending?

There will be no changes at all to your benefits.  If you are on Job Seekers Allowance you will usually be allowed to stop having to evidence weekly job applications for the time you are attending Brand Recovery.

For anyone on sickness (ESA) benefit the Job Centre are happy to support you attending our courses.  At the end of the course your ESA benefit continues unchanged – doing Brand Recovery doesn’t mean having your benefit stopped or cut at the end.

Our Success...

To date we have had in excess of 80 referrals to Brand Recovery and have supported many of these individuals to make real changes to their lives and to discover their goals and aspirations.

We capture pre and post engagement measures to help us to monitor some of the impact attending Brand Recovery has had on individuals.  Emphasis is placed on using validated tools to measure changes and impact where possible.  The Outcome Star is a nationally utilised tool to help to measure impact and behaviour change.  The figure right shows an example of our work with initial scores shown by the green line and the improvements across each domain shown by the blue line.

Each point on the Outcome Star is scored between 1 and 10 (with 10 being the best possible score).  The latest data we have on our work shows the impact of our work in the table below for the average of our learners.
